Dear Players, Parents and membership,
As of today, Thursday, March 19th, we are still in a suspended status as it pertains to training and playing games. All our facilities are currently closed per county government mandate. The school system has extended their shut down to April 15th. All soccer sanctioning bodies, which we participate in, have canceled all activities through April 15th. At this time, we will be following all government and sanctioning body guidelines and will remain inactive to support the community initiatives toward slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Since we cannot collectively meet for training and games, we want to strongly encourage our players to stay active at home through individual ball skills, ball mastery exercises and fitness workouts. I have asked our technical staff to develop online videos that will provide you guidance in various ways to stay fit and keep improving your technical skills level. Be on the look out for emails pertaining to all these sessions as we create Youtube links for you to follow on our West Florida Flames YouTube Channel. Go to our youtube channel WestFloridaFlames and click subscribe to the channel and set notifications to be advised when the videos are up.
We are are also running a social media campaign #flamestrainingandskills via all our social media platforms. Instructions for this campaign are within our social media posts. Stay connected, join the challenge and win prizes.
Please continue to follow all CDC.gov guidelines and help support us in the effort to flatten the curve. Although we are asked to practice social distancing, it is just physical distancing, we can all still stay connected with all our technology through all our West Florida Flames social media outlets.
As a soccer family we need to support and care for each other.
If you are in need of help in any way, please reach out to myself, our staff, your coach or fellow member. We will get through this together! #WFFFAMILY
